A.Alikhanyan National Laboratory of Armenia Establishes a Media, Public Relations and Outreach Group

The group will address public relations, media news releases, education and outreach of A.Alikhanyan National Laboratory. The group will interact with the media to make available to the public the science discoveries of the laboratory, will organize educational and outreach events for the public, will host exhibits, and will help in the organization of conferences.

The young media group members are:

A.Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory is the national laboratory of Armenia. The scientists of A.Alikhanyan National Laboratory are engaged in research in fundamental sciences on the study of matter in the fields of astrophysics, cosmic ray physics, high-energy physics, nuclear physics and material science. The Laboratory is located Yerevan and there are two high-altitude Cosmic Ray Stations on Mount Aragats (3,200 m) and Nor Amberd (2,000 m) leading research cosmic ray physics. The laboratory was founded as Yerevan Physics Institute (YerPhi) in 1943 as a branch of Yerevan State University by brothers Abraham Alikhanov and Artem Alikhanian. In 2011 YerPhi became the ‘National’ laboratory of Armenia.
