ISTC International Workshop Advanced X-ray Imaging, 16-18 June Tsakhkadzor, Armenia
Representatives of eight scientific institutions of Armenia, France and Russia took part in the workshop organized by the Yerevan Physics Institute (YerPhI), with the support of ISTC and the State Committee on the Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia. The presented reports and round table discussions showed that considerable success has been reached in working out and designing detectors of the x-ray image of the high spatial resolution (ESRF, France. YerPhI, Armenia). High-quality scintillation crystals for x-ray detectors (Institute for Physical Research NAS, Armenia) have been raised and investigated. The received results are a good basis for creation of systems of non destructive control of materials and systems of x-ray diagnostics (mammography, computer tomography). Participants of the seminar decided to organize a workgroup (manager M.Mkrtchyan, YerPhI) on coordination of works on creation of systems of digital registration of x-ray images of different function. The workgroup includes representatives from YerPhI, Institute for Physical Research NAS, RA, Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS, RA, the National Center of Oncology of Ministry of Health of Armenia. The workgroup will develop also joint projects for representation in ISTC and State Committee on the Science of Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia. At the ISTC special session a presentation of three ISTC projects and two proposals under the new projects were held.
