The 2nd International Cosmic Ray Workshop "ARAGATS 2011" will be held in September 12-16, 2011 at the International Conference Center of the Alikhanyan National Laboratory (former Yerevan Physics Institute) in Nor-Amberd, Yerevan, Armenia. The Workshop is organized by the Alikhanyan National Laboratory and the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Science.
The Workshop will focus on the cosmic ray and gamma ray data collection, analysis and interpretation relevant to the study of the knee energy region of the primary cosmic ray energy spectrum on the basis of data collected with the GAMMA EAS array at Mt. Aragats and other facilities located at mountain altitudes as well as closer to sea level. A close discussion among several research groups working in this area is important in order to resolve differences between them and proceed towards better understanding of the knee origin. The irregularities in all-particle energy spectrum recently observed with the GAMMA experiment also request joint discussion.
This Workshop is a logical continuation of the very successful Workshop "Aragats 2007" held in Nor-Amberd station in September, 2007.
