Halley comet of 87 BC on the coins of Armenian king Tigran II
87թ. Ք.Ա. Հալլեյի գիսավորը Տիգրան Մեծի դրամների վրա
In 2004 V.G.Gurzadyan (head of Cosmology group, ANL) with historian R.Vardanian (History Museum, Yerevan) in a paper published in Astronomy & Geophysics,45,4.06,2004 (Royal Astronomical Society, UK) http://arxiv.org/abs/physics/0405073 identified the Halley comet on the rare coins of Armenian king Tigranes II the Great. The image of the comet is featured on the tiara of the king on the coins dated to the conquest of Antioch, while the comet had appeared before, on 87 BC. As the earliest among known images of the celebrated comet, this information has currently entered various reference sources on astronomy, antic history, numismatics.

Վ.Գ.Գուրզադյանը (ԱԱԼ, կոսմոլոգիա խումբ) պատմաբան Ռ.Վարդանյանի հետ Astronomy & Geophysics, 45, 4.06, 2004 (Royal Astronomical Society, UK) http://arxiv.org/abs/physics/0405073 ամսագրում հրատարակված հոդվածում նույնացրել էին Հալլեյի գիսավորի պատկերը Տիգրան II–ի հազվադեպ դրամների վրա: Գիսավորը պատկերված է արքայի թագի վրա Անտիոքի գրավման առիթով հատված դրամների վրա, մինչդեռ Հալլեյի գիսավորը երևացել էր մինչ այդ` 87թ. Ք.Ա.: Հալլեյի գիսավորի առավել հին հայտնի պատկերման այս տեղեկությունը ներկայումս ընդգրկված է աստղագիտական, պատմական, դրամագիտական տեղեկատուներում:
